  Melanie and Martin are always pleased to welcome guests (and dogs ) whether staying for the first time or returning for a regular visit. Everyone is welcomed with a pot of tea in the afternoon and a chance to chat in the lounge where infomration can be exchanged on the delights of Exmoor, North Devon and Somerset.

Whether you are single or in a small group staying at the Bark House you can enjoy Ramblings in the Exe Valley  either guided (for larger groups) or self guided (for up to four people). There is excellent river and lake fishing nearby for Fishing in the Exe Valley . If you are touring or just escaping then Exmoor, North Devon  and the West Country  not only has great landsacpe and history, but has been home for writers like Richard Blackmoor, Marcia Willet, Hope Bourne, Henry Williamson and even Roasamund Pilcher. 

Dinners are a highlight for guests returning from a day out, pre dinner drinks in the lounge and a two course menu to choose from. As much as possible is cooked from scratch and whenever possible local suppliers are used providing fresh, local ingredients. Similarly breakfasts are as hearty as you like with excellent bacon, eggs, and sausages as well as a selection of fruits and cerials.
