Nestling in the Exe valley the Bark House is a traditional Devon building once used for the storage of  oak bark supplied to the tanning industry in Bampton. 

The Bark House offers cosy, cottage style accommodation, a comfortable lounge with open fire, and licenced restaurant where home cooking is the order of the day. Among other things Mel makes excellent soups with home made bread, delicious Pavlovas, and scrummy hot puddings. Martin cooks the main dishes using top quality meats with real red wine sauce, as well as great full flavour ice creams using local full cream milk and farm eggs.

Located just six miles south of Dulverton, on the edge of Exmoor, ideal for a weekend away or a short break to explore Devon, Somerset and even further afield in the West Country. Within easy reach of the Bark House you can enjoy the countryside activities of fishing, horse riding, water sports and walking plus a great range of picturesque villages, gardens and historic buildings.
